Not the holiday, but the act of thanksgiving.
I’m thankful for this place. This busy, confusing, illuminating place.
I’m thankful that I get to come home for a few days, see my most amazing dude, my family, my friends. My apartment, my wardrobe, my hair stylist, my baking equipment.
I’m thankful that I get to come back. That this experience is not yet over.
I’m thankful that there will always be more to learn, whether I’m on this campus or not.
I’m thankful for opportunity and for health and for people.
I’m thankful for this brief, unexpected break in my day, and that after this break I get to go watch high school students bring amazing life and energy to shakespeare. I’m grateful to be a part of it and to assist in all the little ways I can.
I’m thankful for this gorgeous, clear, 40 degree day.
I’m thankful that tomorrow I will fly, and that in the course of that trip I will have time to work on my blog. Not just because I feel guilty for leaving my handful of readers hanging, but because having a record of this experience is useful and necessary.
I’m thankful for this life.
So thankful.
